Getting to Bald Head Island / The Marsh Harbour Inn
Transportation Information
Guests travel to the Marsh Harbour Inn on Bald Head Island on a passenger ferry departing from Southport's New Ferry Terminal at Deep Point Marina. Follow signs to Ferry Road, Terminal on right after Round-About. Weather permitting, the ferry runs on a set schedule, leaving Southport on the hour and the island on the half-hour, seven days a week. Round-trip ferry tickets for adults are $23.00, and round-trip ferry tickets for children between 3 and 12 are $12.00. Children under 3 are free. Separate $23.00 cargo tickets must be purchased for large items such as bikes, kayaks, or canoes. Each large item requires its own $23.00 cargo ticket.
Parking
Once guests have removed all luggage from their cars at the ferry landing dock, they are to move their cars to the parking lot .
Specific lot and length of stay determine the price of parking. Parking is $10.00per day. Upon entering the parking lots, guests will obtain a parking ticket that should be placed in safekeeping until guests' departure.
Upon departure from Bald Head Island, guests should present their parking ticket to the attendant at the parking booth. After 10 PM, exit codes may be obtained from the security guard located in the ticket office at the ferry terminal.
Once vehicles are parked, it's time to relax! Guests may now board the ferry and enjoy their twenty-minute ride to Bald Head Island.
Tram Services
Guests of the Marsh Harbour Inn are responsible for making their own ferry/tram reservations. To make ferry/tram reservations to Bald Head Island, please call (910) 457-5003. For your departure, to make ferry/tram reservations to the mainland, please call (910) 457-5006.Once guests arrive on Bald Head Island, they — as well as their luggage — will be transported via tram to the Inn. When it comes time to leave Bald Head Island, the tram service will pick up guests and their luggage at the Inn 20 to 45 minutes before their scheduled departure ferry time.
